Word Cards

A. Choose a Card

Client is given a stack of cards to choose. There is a word on each card and the client needs to read and choose any card.

i) Asks the client to choose a card and show the card to the coach.

ii) Example questions:

a) What made you chose the card?

b) What does the word ‘…’ means to you?

c) How do you relate to the meaning in the card?

d) How do you describe this word and your current situation?

e) How important is ‘…’ to you?

f) Given a scale of 1 to 10, where do you rate ‘…’ in your life?


B. Choose Three Cards

Client is given a stack of cards and requested to choose three cards, or depending on the coach requirement.

i) Asks the client to choose three cards from the stacks of cards given, and asks him to put on the table or show to the coach.

ii) Example questions:

a) What came to your mind when you chose these cards?

b) What do these words mean to you?

c) If I ask you to rank these cards in terms of importance, how would you rank them?

d) What made this word ‘…’ important to you?

e) Who does this word remind you of?

f) is there any special incident that you can relate to these words, if there is, would you mind sharing it with me?

g) How do you see yourself relate to these words?



C. Pick a Card

Coach holds a stack of cards and asks client to pick one of the cards and show it to the coach.

i) Asks the client to pick a card and show to the coach either by putting it on the table or show it to the coach.

ii) Example questions:

a) What came to your mind when you saw the word?

b) How do you describe your feelings when you see the word?

c) What/who does the word remind you of?

d) What would it made you feel?

e) How would you describe being able to talk about this person/situation?

f) When does this word have made an impact on you?

g) What else can you say about this word?
